Renault has globally unveiled the Bridger concept, an upcoming compact SUV that will be developed and manufactured in India for both domestic and international markets. The production version is expected to roll out from India starting next year.

Measuring under 4m in length, the Bridger concept adopts a rugged, upright design language with strong off-road styling elements.

At the front, it features a flat grille panel with illuminated “Renault” lettering positioned between squared headlamps and layered LED daytime running lights. A chunky bumper, pronounced body cladding, and skid-plate elements further emphasize its muscular stance.

In profile, the SUV carries squared wheel arches, thick protective cladding, and large alloy wheels fitted with off-road-oriented tyres. A contrasting black roof, bonnet treatment, and roof rails reinforce the adventure-focused character of the concept.

The rear design continues the boxy theme with vertically stacked tail-lamps and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, highlighting its off-road intent. The upright tailgate and large glass area contribute to the SUV’s practical proportions. Renault also states that the Bridger is expected to offer around 400 litres of boot capacity.

The Bridger will likely be offered with multiple powertrain options, with an electric variant expected to be the first to enter production. In the Indian market, the compact lifestyle SUV will compete with models such as the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the Mahindra Thar.

Within Renault’s lineup, the Bridger will sit between the Renault Kiger and the Renault Duster. And, it will rival popular sub-compact SUVs including the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, and the Kia Sonet.
